USDA Summer Internship

My junior-year summer internship was a large part of why I was able to find a great job so quickly following graduation.

Major: Environmental Studies

Concentration: Environmental Politics, Policy, and Economics

Summer Internship:

Less than 2 months after graduating from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳, I was able to find a job in the environmental field. Being a part of the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ Environmental Studies Department is undoubtedly a large part of why I was able to find a great job so quickly. The Department aided me in finding an internship at USDA the summer of my junior year, and this experience has put me on a path to achieving my professional goals.

As a Public Information Coordinator Intern, I wrote and published press releases, blog posts, and success stories for USDA website and informational materials and maintained a relationship between the USDA and the United States Congress. It was rewarding to have the opportunity to apply concepts I had learned in classes to real world settings. Having already worked in a professional environment, I felt confident and ready to graduate.

I cannot speak highly enough of the Environmental StudiesDepartment. Beyond preparing me for my career, I was lucky enough to find professors that cared deeply about the subject and their students. The direct guidance and attention they are able to provide to each student is highly valuable.
