Western Mass. shifts left?

As Massachusetts鈥 primary day 鈥 September 1 鈥  approaches, some see a demographic shift in western Massachusetts to more progressive politics. The current Democratic congressional primary race is between long-time incumbent U.S. Rep. Richard Neal and Holyoke mayor and progressive powerhouse Alex Morse.

鈥淭he Democratic Party has been trending in a more progressive direction for a while, and we鈥檙e seeing significant generational overturning in the party,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 think progressives are taking over the party but they certainly set the terms of the debate.鈥
